SUMMARY:
We are a multinational industrial distribution and manufacturing company seeking a Sourcing Specialist (raw material focus) for work in support of our US operations based in our US headquarters located in the Philadelphia metro. As a direct report to the Director of Strategic Sourcing, the Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing strategies in regards to raw materials as determined by organizational objectives. Utilizing an analytical based approach, the Sourcing Specialist will be involved in the RFX process, contract management, and vendor management to ensure best in class pricing, quality, and service from our vendors in support of raw materials and manufacturing needs.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university with 4+ years related experience in Strategic Sourcing or Procurement in support of manufacturing operations; Chemical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proven ability to design and execute sourcing activities

COMPETENCY:
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
MATHEMATIC ABILITY:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software, Inventory software and experience working in an enterprise wide system. Experience working in an ERP environment is desirable.
